SRP contributes to nonprofits serving community during record heat wave
As record high temperatures continue to impact the Valley, SRP is providing relief to five local nonprofits helping vulnerable populations deal with the extreme high temperatures.
We are contributing a total of $110,000 to the Salvation Army – Southwest Division, St. Vincent de Paul Society, City of Phoenix Mayor’s “We’re Cool” Heat Relief Drive, United Food Bank and AZCEND Chandler Christian Community Center.
SRP customer donations to ‘Solar for Nonprofits’ help DBG
Thanks to the generosity of customers who donated to the SRP Solar for Nonprofits program, much of the energy powering the Desert Botanical Garden will be as green as this spring’s desert landscape.
The Salt River Project customer-funded program helped finance solar installations on four buildings’ rooftops that cumulatively add up to 100 kilowatts. The solar systems are providing green power to the Desert Botanical Garden’s Horticulture Center, Weisz Learning Center, Marley Education and Volunteer Building, and Ottosen Gallery.
SRP to plant thousands of trees to celebrate Cardinals’ 51 TDs
Thanks to the Arizona Cardinals scoring 51 touchdowns this football season, Salt River Project will plant 5,100 trees to help restore National Forests in Arizona destroyed by fire.
For the past four seasons, SRP has pledged to fund the planting of 100 Ponderosa Pine trees for every Cardinals’ touchdown scored during regular season play to help bring awareness to its Trees for Change program.

Many of the nation’s military members are spending the holidays away from home while stationed at bases across the globe. That’s why SRPVETS (an employee interest group at Salt River Project) is distributing thousands of cookies to our dedicated men and women who are currently stationed away from home.
