Ducey: AZ is not in a water crisis

AZ Governor says innovative, proactive measures taken years ago prepared the state to face today’s water challenges.

Today Gov. Doug Ducey emphasized the crucial role water plays in the health and strength of Arizona’s economy in his remarks at the “Keeping Water Flowing” luncheon hosted by East Valley Partnership and sponsored by SRP.

Despite the West’s 16th year of drought, and the well-publicized water challenges in neighboring California, Ducey touted the state’s long history of proactive water management as the reason Arizona is sufficiently prepared to face complex water challenges.

“It’s no accident that Arizona is not facing the same challenges that face California at this time,” Ducey said. “Instead, Arizona stands where California could have been had they taken our path years ago.”
